Winchester, Model 1885 Low Wall Rifle, .22 WCF Cal., MFG. 1895, SN: 70236, Lever Action Single Shot Rifle, 28'' Full octagon #2 marked barrel. The original wood stocks are excellent & solid, retaining the majority of the original factory finish. There are several minor contusions, handling marks & scratches. The forearm has the ebony inlay at tip. The original metal blue finish on the barrel remains at 95%, with spotty areas of light pitting & speckling. The case-hardened receiver, block, lever & buttplate all display strong case-colors. Bore is excellent. The barrel carries an adjustable rear & small blade front sights. Metal crescent buttplate. The # ''2'' is stamped under the forearm & above the forend tip on the barrel. The underside/inside of the forend is also stamped with a ''2'' & ''22'', for barrel weight & caliber. Comes with a dated 1972 Winchester Museum Letter confirming configuration & dates. This is a very nice original single shot rifle in a fairly rare caliber. Antique No FFL Req. - Value: 1000 to 2000
