EXCELLENT Winchester, Model 1886, 40-65 WCF, MFG. 1888 (Antique), SN: 12897, Lever Action Rifle, 26'' Octagon barrel, Full mag. The original straight grip stocks are excellent, retaining the original finish, with a very thin layer of protective oil. The stocks display just a few tiny handling marks. The original metal blue finish on the barrel rates 98%, 95% on mag, with some light scratches & tiny dings. The receiver, lever, hammer, buttplate & forend cap are all case-hardened, displaying muted case-colors, with brighter case-colors in more protected areas. The sliding bolt retains a full 98% of the original bright blue, 80% on the loading gate. The barrel carries an original 1886 stamped rear ladder sight & standard front sight. Bore is excellent. Stock carries a crescent metal buttplate. Set trigger. This case-colored 1886 is an excellent example of a high original condition & very collectible early production rifle.* Antique, No FFL Req. - Value: 5000 to 7500
