Winchester, Model 70 Super Grade, CAL: 220 SWIFT, MFG: 1955, SN: 320352, Bolt Action Rifle, 26'' Round tapered barrel (standard for only the 220 Swift & 300 H&H Magnum Super Grade rifles). The factory deluxe walnut wood stock has the Super Grade raised cheek piece, deluxe wrap-around checkering, black pistol cap & ebony forend tip. The stock carries the original finish & has an added thin layer of protective finish or touch-up. The barrel appears to be a stainless steel barrel, as the stippled gray metal finish on the barrel & receiver both match, rating 98%. Stainless steel barrels are much rarer & more desired amongst collectors. The blue finish on the floorplate appears to have been restored. Bore is excellent & bright, with crisp rifling. The barrel holds a flip-up rear & a hooded ramp front sight. The receiver is factory tapped for scope mounts. Buttstock carries a checkered metal buttplate. Sling provisions, with unattached sling swivels. While nearly 20,000 standard grades were made in 220 Swift, very few were produced in Super Grade & even fewer with the stainless steel barrel. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 2500 to 4000
