SCARCE, Colt, Model ''Three-Fifty-Seven'' , CAL: 357 MAG, MFG: 1954 (1st Year Production), SN: 5948, Double Action Revolver, 5 3/4'' barrel. The checkered, silver Colt logo medallion wood grips are excellent, displaying light handling marks & sharp checkering. The metal blue finish rates 99% overall, with a small area of thinning at the muzzle. Bore is near mint, bright with crisp rifling. The frame holds an adjustable rear sight & ramped blade front sight. Action & cylinder function is smooth & tight. This revolver displays very little use, as a high condition example of a first year production. The Colt .357 was a big success, & was ultimately replaced by the Colt Python. It was discontinued in 1961 after only 15,000 had been produced, making it fairly rare & collectible. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 1200 to 2200
