FABULOUS Winchester, Model 1866 ''Yellowboy'', .44 Henry Cal., MFG: 1869, SN: 21664, Lever Action Rifle, 2nd model, Rare, early ''HENRY'' marked barrel address on the 24 3/8'' octagon barrel, Full mag. The original wood stocks are excellent & solid, with numerous tiny finish level handling marks or contusions to the excellent & original high gloss finish. The original high luster metal blue finish remains at 98% on barrel & mag, with loss mainly along the edges of the flats or some light haze. The brass receiver, forend cap & buttplate all display a smooth aged mustard patina, with no evidence of ever being polished. Even the hammer displays strong case-colors & the loading gate retains the majority of the high luster blue. Bore is excellent, with one spot of pitting about 8'' from muzzle, lands & grooves. The barrel mounted with the correct flip-up ladder rear sight, with slide graduation to 900 yds & silver blade front sight. Consistent with the 2nd model, it has the block font SN stamped behind the trigger on lower tang. Rifle has the crescent buttstock with the hinged trapdoor buttplate. Fitted with the early factory sling loops & a very rare original leather sling with brass hardware, which is in excellent condition. Likely, one of the nicest 1866 rifles we have ever sold. An excellent example & a highly collectible rifle in this level of original condition.* Antique, No FFL Req. - Value: 35000 to 55000
