C.S Shattuck, Model ''American'', CAL: 8GA, MFG: circa 1890, SN: 358, Single Shot Break Action Punt Gun, 39 1/2'' barrel. The refinished straight grip wood stock & forend are very good & solid. There is a 2'' grain crack on the right side of the wrist alongside contusions, light scrapes & dings. The metal finish on the barrel & receiver has fully toned to a brown patina, with remnants of blue in protected areas. Bore is good, with consistent roughness & intermittent light pitting. The barrel holds a single front bead. Smooth metal buttplate. Double triggers. The front trigger controls the barrel break & the rear one fires the gun. The punt gun was used by market hunters to harvest large quantities of waterfowl. Antique, No FFL Req. - Value: 200 to 700
