Auguste Francotte, Belgian Shotgun, CAL: 16GA, MFG: N/A, SN: 75494, Break Action SxS Shotgun, 29 1/2'' barrel. The top of the barrels are marked ''AUGUSTE FRANCOTTE'' & ''BREVETE A. LIEGE''. The original, checkered round knob wood stocks are very good, with oils added over time. There is a small inlay repair at the toe, alongside scratches, scrapes & contusions. The metal blue finish on the barrels rates 80%, with spotting toned to a brown patina. The receiver, barrels ends, break lever, safety switch & trigger guard are all hand engraved, with deep relief floral & ornamental scroll patterns. The receiver is case-hardened, worn to mostly metal grey & brown patina, with faint case-colors remaining. Bores are excellent, with visible light wear from honest use. The solid, matted rib holds a front bead. Toe repaired grooved buttplate. Sling loops present. Double triggers. A nice example of a Belgian shotgun.* FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 1500 to 2500
