Springfield. Model: 1873. Cal: 45-70. MFG: 1881. S/N: 152985. Trapdoor breech loader. 32 1/2'' Barrel. The straight wrist wood stock is very good, scratches, dents, gouges, chips & wear from use/age, Cartouche on left side of stock above trigger that reads ''SWP 1881'' in box. Metal finish on barrel rates 60% with spots worn to a gun metal gray & spots being brown patina, receiver has worn to a even gun metal gray with no case hardening left. Lock plate has some bluing left & is marked with eagle, ''U.S. Springfield'', top of breech block is marked ''MODEL 1873'', rear of receiver is marked with S/N, left side of barrel is marked with ''V'' over ''P'' over Eagle, ''P'', both barrel bands marked with ''U''. Bore is good bright with light roughness amongst thinned rifling. Blade front sight, U-notch tangent/ ladder rear sight marked 1 to 5 on left side of base & 6 to 12 on ladder. Metal buttplate worn to a gun metal gray with spots of rust & brown patina, ''US'' marked on upper tang. Bottom sling swivel & stacking swivel, has cleaning rod.
