NEW BOXED, Marlin, 1895 GST, CAL: .45/70 Gov'T, MFG: 2007, SN: 95GST344, Lever Action Rifle , 19'' Round stainless barrel. 2/3 Mag. A special edition commissioned by Talo Distributors Inc. & one of just 500 producted. This rifle displays Ulrich inspired engraving from patterns produced by Marlin in the late 1890s. Conrad Ulrich, a student of Colts famous engraver Gustave Young, together with his brothers, John & Herman Ulrich lived & worked in New Haven in 1869. Beginning at Winchester they moved to Marlin & produced some of the finest engraving artistry for them until 1919 when the last member of this talented family retired. The rifle features majestic & highly ornamental whitetails on the left side of the receiver & the Marlin mounted cowboy logo on the the right, along with foliate & scroll accent engravings. The upper tang is marked with the SN. The stocks are two-piece checkered walnut with an oiled finish, capped forearm, straight grip, straight comb, & a Marlin ventilated recoil pad. The buttstock has the ''Marlin Bullseye'' in the belly. The stainless metal finish rates 100% overall. Barrel carries an adjusting folding leaf rear & hooded front blade sights. Sling studs. Hang tag still on gun. Comes in original matching box, with packaging, paperwork, lock & tool. NOS. An excellent special edition short barrel rifle, with fabulous factory engraving.
