Colt Lightning, Medium Frame, CAL: 32, MFG: 1888, SN: 27581, Pump Action Rifle, 21 1/2'' Round barrel, 2/3 mag. The factory straight grip wood stocks are good, with a checkered forend. The toe has a 1 1/4'' chip repair & a couple of 2'' grain cracks above. Emanating from the upper tang is a 2'' grain crack & there are other small dings, scratches & contusions. The forearm has a 2'' x 1/2'' missing chunk from the underside, & a 2'' x 1/2'' repair slice in the other side of the forearn. Much of the checkering has worn smooth. The original metal finish has worn mostly gun metal gray, with areas with a thin brown patina remaining. The hammer shows remnants of case-coloring. Bore is good, with roughness amongst strong rifling. Rifle is fitted with an adjustable rear & long blade front sights. Crescent metal buttplate. A well used, but not abused survivor of a fairly rare rifle. Antique, No FFL Req. - Value: 800 to 1500
