UNIQUE & RARE Winchester, Model 1906 Expert, 1/2 Nickeled, .22 S. L. LR., MFG: 1919, SN: 584523, Pump Action Rifle, 20'' Round barrel. This rifle was presented to Herb Parsons, who was a famous Winchester trick shooter. The rifle was sold to the current consignor back in the late 80's or 90's from the Herb Parsons estate by his son. Unfortunately, a letter from the son authenticating it was never obtained & it was recently discover that the son also passed some 5 years ago. Expert models are similar to the standard 1906 models, but with pistol grip & a hour-glass smooth forearm. Approximately 70,000 Experts were made from 1917-25, but only a small percentage were nickeled. This rifle was fully & professionally restored before it prepared for presentation to Herb. The original pistol grip wood stocks are excellent, having been lightly sanded & very nicely refinished. The stocks have very few handling marks. There is a black diamond shaped inlay in the pump forend & a matching inlaid black cap on the pistol grip. The sides of the stock has been inlaid with vintage Winchester / Western target tokens with ''SOMERVILLE TN'' (Herb's hometown) being engraved on the one on the right side & the left side engraved with his name ''HERB PARSONS''. The restored metal blue finish on the barrel & mag is excellent rating 98%. The restored nickeled finish on the receiver & trigger guard is like wise excellent, rating 100%. Bore is excellent. Fitted with standard barrel sights. Winchester plastic buttplate. A very nicely restored & upgraded Expert rifle, which presents fantastically. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 1000 to 3000
