Springfield Armory, Model: 1884 Carbine, Cal: .45-70, MFG: 1889, S/N: 449354, Trapdoor breach loader, 22'' barrel. The straight wrist wood stock is very good with light nicks, dings, dents, scratches, & wear from use/age, no visible cartouches on stock. The metal has toned to a even brown patina with faint remnants of case hardening remanning on breech block. Top of breach block is marked ''U.S.'', ''MODEL'', ''1884'', rear of receiver is marked with S/N, barrel is marked with very faint proof markings. Bore is fair, bight with light roughness, thinned rifling, & light pitting in one spot. Barleycorn front sight with Buffington, U-notch/aperture ladder rear sight marked 2 to 20. Metal trapdoor buttplate with light wear & patina, marked on upper tang ''US'', trapdoor is empty. Saddle ring side sling bar. Antique, No FFL Req. - Value: 500 to 1000
