BOXED, Colt, Model Python, Python Blue, CAL: 357 Magnum, MFG: 1981, SN: K20807, Double Action Revolver, 8'' barrel. The Colt Python was introduced as a premium model in 1955, in caliber .357 Magnum, with some rare caliber variations produced along the way. The Python is built on the large I-frame & has a reputation for accuracy, smooth trigger pull, & a tight cylinder lock-up. It has a 6-shot swing-out cylinder & was available in Python blue, Royal blue, Python nickel & Python stainless steel finishes. Some firearm collectors & writers have described the Python as ''the finest production revolver ever made''. It has a wide serrated target hammer, ventilated rib, & fully adjustable target quality rear sights. The left side of barrel is stamped ''PYTHON .357 * .357 MAGNUM CTG * ''. The Rampant Colt gold medallion, checkered wooden grips on this example are near mint. The Python Blue (sometimes referred to as Royal Blue) finish is minty, with a few tiny speckles. Bore is mint. The satin black finished top of the ventilated rib barrel holds a screw height adjusting ''U'' notch rear sight & black serrated blade front sight. This gun comes in an original Colt wood grain box, with instruction manual & other original papers. FFL Req. - Value: 2500 to 3500
