Classic Rifle Co, Sharps 1874 Custom Reproduction, CAL: 45, MFG: 1990's, SN: 001, Lever Action Falling Block Rifle, 28'' Octagon heavy barrel. The top of the barrel is stamped in a two line address ''CLASSIC RIFLE CO BEND, OR'' & ''CALIBRE 45''. The SN is on the upper tang, behind the loading port. The checkered & capped pistol grip wood stocks, with raised cheek are excellent. They displaying a wonderful contrasting wood grain, with few handling marks to the finish. The metal blue finish on the barrel rates 99% overall, with some dark speckled staining. The receiver, lever & hammer are case-hardened, retaining full tones. Bore is basically mint. The upper tang holds an oversized short range peep sight, with adjustable aperture disc, while the barrel has a front globe sight, with level. Buttstock carries a checkered metal buttplate. Some special features of this gun are the wedge shaped breech block, dual extractors & trigger placement alteration. The original owner mentioned that this gun has not been fired outside of the factory test fire. This firearm was made by skilled gun makers John Mitchel & Steve Knowles of Bend, OR.
