Remington, Rolling Block Carbine, CAL: 43 Spanish, MFG: 1870's-80's, SN: N/A, Rolling Block Rifle, 20 1/2'' barrel. The straight grip wood stock is excellent, with minor handling marks, & contusions. The metal blue finish on the barrel rates 80%, toning gray & brown patina in areas of thinning. The case-hardened receiver & trigger guard display muted case-colors, with spots of brown patina. The metal surfaces have light pitting. Bore is excellent & bright, with crisp rifling. The barrel holds the original flip-up leaf rear sight & blade front sight. Buttstock carries a smooth metal buttplate. Original saddle ring. These gun are notorious for having an action that was extremely strong, & could easily withstand the increased pressure of the new smokeless powders coming into use by the late 1880's.
