FABULOUS CUSTOM Johone Singer Hunting Rifle, CAL: 30-06, MFG: N/A, SN: N/A, Bolt Action Rifle, 23'' barrel. The rifle is built on a Mauser Gewehr 98 action. The solid matted rib is stamped ''JOS SINGER LOS ANGELES, CAL.'', the left side of the barrel is marked ''MADE IN GERMANY'', the left side of the frame has a couple proof marks followed by '' St.m.G'' over ''110 Gr.''. The receiver, floorplate & trigger guard displays simple, ornamental, scroll & border engraving. The beautifully hand carved, deep relief scrolls & fans surround excellent checkering. The stock is excellent, featuring a raised cheek, capped pistol grip, a black forend cap & wonderful grain. The metal blue finish rates 80% on the barrel, with spotting & speckling. The finish on the receiver rates 60%, with worn areas toning to a brown patina & some pitting. The floorplate has worn mostly gun metal gray, with a thin brown patina. Bore is very good, with some roughness amongst strong rifling. The receiver is fitted with a German Hensoldt-Wetzlar Zieljago 4x8 31 scope, held by see through rings, for use of open sight, & claw mounts. The solid rib of the barrel holds a fixed rear sight with an additional leaf flip-up & a ramped blade front sight. Buttstock carries a Pachmayr ventilated recoil pad. Sling loops. Custom trigger.
