RARE BOXED, Winchester, ''Special Model'' 43, CAL: 32-20, MFG: 1948, SN: 5544, Bolt Action Rifle, 24 1/2'' Round barrel. First yr of production. The original deluxe checkered & capped pistol grip wood stock is excellent, displaying sharp checkering. The stock carries the original finis h with few handling marks or light contusions. The metal blue finish rates 99% overall. Bore is excellent, near mint. The barrel holds an adjustable rear sight & ramped hood front sight. The buttstock carries a checkered metal buttplate. Front & back sling loops. Detachable mag. Comes in original box, with SN correct ''Special 43'' label, instruction booklet & internal packaging. During the 5 years of production, 1948 to 53, less than 63,000 model 43 rifles were produced. Of those, very few were deluxe ''Special Models''. Collector's typically add 150% premiums for the rarer 32-20 & 25-20 calibers & another 100% to value for the deluxe ''Special Models''. A very collectible boxed rifle in excellent collector's condition. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 2000 to 4500
