FN Herstal, Model Patrol Bolt Rifle (PBR), marked 308 WIN Cal., MFG. Modern SN: FG10135, Bolt Action Rifle, 26'' medium heavy Special Police Barrel. PBR is the moniker of the FN response to the patrol rifle needs. This is a pre-64 Winchester Model 70 style action married to a precision barrel (not match grade) chambered for .308, with a four-round box magazine & 26'' barrel. Both action & barrel are stamped ''Special Police Rifle''. FN took their sub-MOA counter sniper rifle, a SPR (Special Police Rifle) long-range precision rifle built for FBI employment, & trimmed it down for patrol precision shooter needs. They installed it onto the factory PBR flat pistol grip & beavertail forearm composite stock. The stock on this example is excellent, with a few minor rubs. The previous owner has added a thin foam pad over the comb from cheek to cheek. The re-parkerized metal finish on barrel & receiver rates 95%, over some previous spotty areas of pitting on the receiver. Bore is excellent. The receiver carries a Tasco 6-24x40 scope, which is missing one of its turret caps. No provision for open sights. Buttstock carries a solid recoil pad. Sling studs & bipod mounting stud. Detachable 4 shot mag. FFL Req. - Value: 600 to 1200
