RARE PRE-BAN, MAADI (Factory 54) Model: ARM, Cal: 7.62x39mm, MFG: 1980's, S/N: S000905, Semi-auto rifle, 16 1/4'' threaded barrel. The laminated wood stock & handguard are excellent with only a few minor scuffs, lower handguard has some play back and forth, has a Bakelite plastic checkered pistol grip. The baked on black enamel metal finish rates 90% over all with minor scratches/wear. Left side of receiver is marked with S/N, ''ARM SEMI AUTOMATIC RIFLE'', ''CALIBER 7.62X39'', ''MAADI COMPANY'', ''MADE IN EGYPT'', right side of receiver is marked ''STEYR,SECAUCUS,N.J.'', left side of rear sight block is stamped with the MAADI Logo, right side of rear sight block is stamped with a ''Pharaoh's Crown'' crest. Bore is excellent, bright & mirror like. Barrel holds a adjustable post front sight with protective wings, Tangent U-notch rear sight marked 1 to 10. stock carries a steel trapdoor butt plate. Rifle has the cleaning rod & comes with a green canvas sling, also has the bayonet lug, reference lot # 5821 for more mags for this rifle. Only about 2000 of these rifle were imported before the ban making them quite rare. Also these Rifles are almost a exact Semi-auto duplicate of the Russian AKM, other that the rear sight markings being pushed to 1000 Meters instead of 800 & the Bakelite plastic pistol grip rather than a wood, & is about as close as you can get on the U.S. market to a real Russian AKM.
