Description

Colt, First Gen Single Action Army U.S Marked, CAL: 45 COLT, MFG: 1877, SN: 35517, Single Action Revolver, 7 1/2'' barrel. This gun has been fully & professionally restored. All matching SN on the butt, trigger guard, frame & cylinder. The inspector initials ''J.T.C'' can be found on the frame above the SN, bottom of barrel & cylinder. There are two cartouches on the left grip, ''1877'' over an upside-down cursive ''JH'' cartouche in a square. The right grip has the same right side up cursive ''JH'' cartouche. The cartouches are thin from the grips being refinished, but are still very legible. The top of the barrel has a one line address ''COLT'S PT. F. A. MFG CO HARTFORD, CT. U.S.A''. The left side of the receiver has a two line patent date ''PAT.SEPT.19.1871, JULY2.72, JAN.19.75'' & a ''U.S'' marking. The markings on the frame appear thin. The cylinder has a partial matching SN. The full SN can be found on the frame. The original wood grips are excellent, having been lightly sanded & refinished. The metal blue finish on the barrel & cylinder rates 97%. The case-hardened receiver & hammer display bright case colors. Bore is excellent, with mirrored appearance. V-notch rear groove & tall blade front sight. Comes with a Colt Factory letter. The records on this revolver do not provide the barrel length or type of stock, they label it as ''Not Listed'', however there is a ''Remarks'' paragraph below the record that states: ''As noted above, the records do not provide information with regard to the barrel length of revolver or the type of stocks. However, this is usually an indication of a 7 1/2'' barrel length and walnut stocks as these were considered standard issue for that time period.''. This revolver still presents excellently having been professionally restored. No FFL Req. - Value: 2000 to 6000
