Winchester, Model 1873, 3rd Variation, CAL: 22 Long, MFG: 1902, SN: 560277B, Lever Action Rifle, 24'' Round barrel, Full mag. The original straight grip wood stock & forend are good & solid. The toe has edge chipping, while both stocks display contusions, scrapes & dings. The forend has been sanded & refinished. While the stock appears to carry the original finish. The metal finish on the barrel & receiver have toned to a speckled mix of metal gray, brown patina & some added patina. The metal exhibits numerous small contusions, abrasions & knicks, along with some light pitting. The mag tube is likely a replacement, having 90% blue with some striations. The barrel has been relined & bore is very good, but with some pitting & roughness amongst proud rifling. The barrel holds an adjustable rear sight, with a replacement ladder & a pinched silver blade front sight. Stock carries a crescent metal buttplate. The rifle has some replaced internal parts, which need some additional adjusting for the lever action to operate properly, as it sticks open & won't close without manually retracking the loading gate & depressing the loading block.
