UNIQUE Winchester, Model 1886, SPECIAL ORDER, CAL: 45-90 WCF, MFG: 1893 (Antique), SN: 82813, Lever Action Rifle. Full Mag. This rifle is fitted with a RARE special order 28'' EXTRA HEAVY Octagon Barrel. The original straight grip stocks are excellent & solid. They retain the original finish, although the finish has worn thin at the wrist & particularly on the forearm, with some added oils. The stocks display several minor scratches, scrapes & contusions. The forend has a thin sliver missing along the right upper edge & a there's a 3'' grain crack on the left side of the forend tip. The original metal blue finish on the barrel rates 40%, with areas of thinning toned to a chocolate brown patina . The receiver, lever, hammer, buttplate & forend cap are all case-hardened, with the some shadowy outlines of faded case-colors & a thin layer of developing patina. The sliding bolt retains 50% of their original bright blue. Fitted with a full buckhorn adjustable rear sight & standard front sight. Bore is very good, with some spotty areas of roughness amongst strong rifling. Stock carries a crescent metal buttplate. Comes with a copy of a Cody Winchester Factory Records Letter, which confirms production dates & the configuration with the rare extra heavy special length barrel. This rifle is an excellent example of a special order 1886.* Antique, No FFL Req. - Value: 8000 to 12000
