RARE ENGRAVED E. Remington & Sons, Hepburn No. 3, CAL: 40-90??, MFG: 1883-1907, SN: 6762, Lever Action Drop Block Single Shot Rifle, 30 1/4'' Half octagon, half round barrel. This rifle has been professionally restored to excellent overall condition. The checkered & round knob pistol grip wood stock & metal schnabel tipped forend are excellent. They display excellent finish, with very minor contusions & handling marks. The metal blue finish on the barrel is a mix of original finish, toning to a brown patina in areas of thinning wear & some added blue finish. There is some light speckling under blue. The receiver, hammer, trigger guard & drop lever are all case-hardened, with vivid case-colors. The receiver features hand engraved feeding bucks on each side, with other finely executed scrolls & border engraving. Bore is very good & bright, with some intermittent light spots of roughness amongst strong rifling. The barrel holds an adjustable rear sight & silver blade front sight. Buttstock carries the original curved metal buttplate. Double set triggers. This rifle rare engraved Hepburn has an excellent overall appearance & is quite collectible.* FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 2500 to 5000
