CUSTOM, Rolling Block, CAL: 40-60 WCF, MFG: N/A, SN: None Lever Action Single Shot Rolling Block Rifle, 25 1/2'' octagon barrel. This is a very unique ''Fruen'' custom built lever action rolling block rifle, which appears to be built on a Remington model 1 1/2 rolling block receiver. The lever conversion functions to simple drop the block to allow for greater access to extract the spent shell. This proved to be very useful & successful for quicker reloading, which was critical for both game hunting or to defend one self. The custom straight grip wood stocks are excellent, with very nice wavy grain & excellent finish. There is a tight 1'' hairline crack on the right side of wrist, along with other minor contusions & scrapes. The barrel carries no makers address other than the 45-60 WCF caliber marking. The metal finish on the barrel has toned to a chocolate brown patina, with worn areas being gun metal gray & with remnants of blue in protected areas. The receiver was likely case-colored at one time, but currently carries the thin remains of added finish. Bore is excellent & bright, with crisp rifling. The barrel has a open rear dovetail & a hooded front sight. The upper tang is tapped, with two open screw holes from a previously mounted tang sight. There is a hickory cleaning rod secured within the forend & under the barrel with two dovetailed retaining loops. Buttstock carries a deep crescent metal buttplate, with long upper tang. A unique & nicely built custom lever rolling block rifle. FFL or C&R Req - Value: 1000 to 2000
