RARE POLICE ISSUED Winchester, Model 07, marked 351 Cal., MFG. 1941, SN: 49767, Semi-Auto Rifle, 22'' Round barrel, measuring 22 1/2'' with the special order muzzle break. In 1935, Winchester offered a special ''police rifle'' variant. This rifle originally was ordered by the Nebraska State Police & the flat of the pistol grip is stamped ''NSPD''. It must have spent most of its life in a storage rack, as it doesn't show much use wear & the condition is overall excellent. The original heavy duty police style stocks, with flat pistol grip, are excellent, with the original high gloss finish. The finish has some minor finish level handling blemishes or rack storage rubs. The rifle is fitted with the thicker style forend, which does have two 1'' grain cracks to the left rear of the forend, which is very typical of virtually all of these semi-auto Winchesters. However, these are very minor, as in most examples, these cracks run the length of the forend. The original metal blue is 98% on barrel & receiver, with more wear on the forend cap. The charging rod has the later designed ''U'' shape end, which was designed initially to make it easier for law enforcement to accurate & lock the bolt back. It also has the factory sling provisions, a larger serrated magazine release button & the grooved metal buttplate, all typical of the police variant & law enforcement issued 1907's. Bore is excellent. Mounted with adjustable rear & standard front sights. High capacity 10 shot magazine. Total production of 1907 rifles is less than 58,500, with only a small portion police marked & utilized. Excellent, high original condition & collector's quality.
