VERY RARE Winchester, Model 67 SMOOTH BORE, 3rd Issue, .22 SHORT, LONG AND LONG RIFLE Cal., MFG. 1937-63, SN: None, Take-down Bolt Action Rifle, 27'' Tapered round barrel, Sporting model, Marked ''SMOOTH BORE'' on left side of barrel. This 3rd issue rifle has the factory heavier (no groove), flat pistol grip stock, with the tapered forend, slanted forend tip, flush take-down screw, blued trigger & the earlier chamber marking. The factory flat pistol grip wood stock is excellent, with several small contusions & light handling marks. The flat of the pistol grip is stamped inside an oval ''MACPHERSON''S STORES INVERNESS'', which was a sporting good store & staple on Inglis Street, Inverness Nova Scotia from the early part of the 20th century until its closure in the mid 70's. The metal finish on the barrel has been professionally restored to 98% overall, with small areas of speckled pitting under blue. Bore is excellent. Mounted with original factory sights. Winchester plastic buttplate. A rare smooth bore example & in excellent condition. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 500 to 1000
