Winchester Model 88, CAL: 308 WIN, MFG: 1957, SN: 42041, Lever Action Rifle, 22'' barrel. Pre-64. The original checkered & capped pistol grip wood stock is excellent, having been professionally refinished. The stock had a very thin hairline crack on the left side running from the back of the trigger guard & running diagnally to the top edge mid receiver. It was professionally repaired before the stock refinishing & almost goes unnoticed unless you know its there. The original checkering remains excellent & there are almost no handling marks to the excellent finish. The original metal blue finish rates 95% overall. Bore is excellent. The barrel holds the original flip-up rear sight & a hooded ramp front sight. Stock carries a black checkered plastic buttplate. Factory sling swivels. There is a an eight digit # lightly electric penciled onto the bottom of the trigger guard. Appearance is excellent overall & would be an excellent shooter. FFL or C&R Req - Value: 800 to 1500
