Marlin, Model 1889, .44 W, Take-Down, Cal. MFG. 1890, SN: 35008, Lever Action Rifle, 24'' Round barrel, Full mag. The wood stocks are good & solid, after two pegs on the right & one on the left adding stability at the wrist, as part of a break repair. The stock was likely partially sanded as part of the repair process. Both stock & forend carry an added layer of finish over the original finish. The stocks display numersous small to large contusions, scratches & scrapes. The metal finishes have worn to a combination of mostly gun metal gray, a thin brown patina & some remnants of blue in protected areas. The barrel carries an adjustable rear & a small blade front sights. Bore is good, but with roughness amongst thinned rifling. Stock carries a crescent metal buttplate. Tight smooth action. A well used old west antique lever, with lots of stories to tell. NO FFL Req. - Value: 500 to 1000
