Marlin, Model 1893 Short Rifle (Carbine), marked 30-30 Cal., MFG. 1901, SN: 222399, Lever Action Rifle, 20'' Octagon barrel, Marked ''SPECIAL SMOKELESS STEEL''. Full mag. The wood stocks are good & solid, but the stock is a combination of two stocks with the back 3'' of the buttend having been added to stock to restore the original look & length, which was likely cut short at one time. The stocks were then sanded & refinished, with few minor scrapes, scratches & contusions remaining. The metal surfaces has worn mostly gun metal gray, with thin remnants of orginal blue remaining in the more protected areas of the barrel. Barrel carries an updated Marbles adjustable rear sight & tall blade front sight. Bore is good, but with roughness amongst strong rifling. The stock carries the original carbine style metal buttplate. The lever has some bend & denting to its shape. Action remains tight & smooth. This would make a fun to shoot or hunt with short rifle.
