Savage, Model 1899, CAL: 303 SAV, MFG: 1909, SN: 90342, Lever Action Rifle, 26'' Octagon barrel. The straight grip wood stock is an excellent replacement, carrying its original finish with virtually no handling marks. The forend is the original, which is in very good condition, showing numerous minor scrapes, scratches & contusions to its original finish. The original metal blue finish on the barrel rates 30%, naturally thinning with use & wear. The receiver has worn mostly gun metal gray, with some remnants of original blue in more protected areas. The case-hardened lever retains case-colors only visible on the internal portions. Bore is excellent. The barrel holds a Marbles adjustable rear sight & an elongated blade front sight. The stock carries the a solid black recoil pad. The rifle has a nice overall appearance. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 600 to 1000
