Winchester, Model 1885 High Wall Rifle, .45 Ex Cal., MFG: 1887, SN: 11002, Lever Single Shot Rifle, 30'' Round #2 marked barrel, The left side of the barrel is marked ''MANUFACTURED EXPRESSLY FOR MESSRS OAKES & CO. MADRAS. The original straight grip wood stocks are excellent & solid. There is an ebony tip to the schnabel forend. There are several minor handling marks, scratches & contusions to the thinning original finish. The original metal blue finish on barrel rates 85%. The case-hardened receiver lever, block & hammer all display wonderful case-colors. Bore is excellent. The barrel carries an adjustable rear & elongated blade front sights. The stock carries a widow's peak shotgun metal buttplate. The barrel is stamped with a ''2'' forward of the forearm & under the forearm. The barrel is stamped with the the caliber ''45 EX'' under the forend & on top of the barrel''. This is a wonderful original condition heavy barreled high wall rifle, in a rarer caliber.
