Winchester, Model 74, Marked .22 L. RIFLE, MFG. 1942, SN: 124761, Semi-Auto Rifle, 24'' Tapered round barrel, Although some 400,000 plus model 74 rifles were produced, it is a rifle that is seldom encountered & little is know. Cartridges load through the buttstock once the mag follower is removed through the metal buttplate. The original flat pistol grip, American straight grain walnut stock is excellent, having been nicely refinished. There are very few finish level minor contusions or scuffs. Factory metal blue finish rates 70% overall. Bore is excellent & bright, however there may be a small imperfection bid barrel. Fitted an unusual rear receiver sight, while the barrel has an open rear dovetail & a white bead front blade sight. The left side of the receiver has two open holes from previous scope mounting. The unique receiver mounted safety functions by sliding it side to side within a dovetail channel. A sharp looking Winchester semi-auto .22. FFL or C&R Req - Value: 250 to 400
