RARE Winchester, Model 90, .22 LONG RIFLE Cal., MFG: 1916 SN: 604329, Slide Action Pump, 24'' Tapered octagon barrel. The L.R, only caliber is the rarest & most desired caliber amongst collectors as only 10% of total production was this caliber. The L.R. caliber was added in the 1890 line-up in 1919. Therefore, there is some confusion about a receiver 1916 receiver & a 1919 introduction of the caliber. Whether the dating on the receiver is incorrect, or the receiver sat around the factory until it finally received a L.R. barrel in 1919, or it possible the barrel was later factory replaced. The truth is unknow to this cataloger. The original wood is excellent & solid. The original finish is excellent, with a few very tiny finish level handling marks. The stock displays fantastic wavy grain. The metal blued finish appears original & rates 98% on the barrel, 95% on the receiver, & 80% on the mag tube, with loss on the receiver due to tiny speckles. Bore is excellent. Barrel carries the original front & rear sights. Factory crescent steel buttplate, Excellent original example of a single caliber 90 remaining in very high collectible condition. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 2000 to 4000
