Winchester, Model 1902 (Early Variation), CAL: 22 S & L, MFG: 1902-19, SN: NSN, Bolt Action Rifle, 18'' barrel. Early variation with the metal buttplate & simply in .22 Short & Long. The original straight grip wood stock is excellent, but with several minor contusions, scrapes & dings to the original finish. A metal blue finish was added some time long ago, but has worn to about 40%, with a thin brown patina. The buttplate & trigger guard have strong blue coverage. Bore is fair, with spotting & light pitting amongst worn rifling. The barrel holds a rare factory original rear peep rear sight & blade front sight. Stock carries a rare factory original steel buttplate. Serpentine trigger guard. A neat variation, with a couple rare features. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 250 to 500
