Springfield (J. Stevens Arms Co.), Model 83, .22 S, L, LR Cal., MFG. 1935-38, SN: None, Bolt Action Single Shot Rifle, 24'' round barrel. The capped pistol grip wood stock is a replacement, which rates very good. The stock has a white-line buttend, pistol grip cap & black tip forend. The stock has been sanded & very nicely refinished, with rippled grain & tiger stripped cross grain. There a very few minor scrapes contusions. The original metal blue finish rates 30% on the barrel, with the balance on the barrel & receiver toned to a brown patina, with some speckling. Bore is very good & bright. The barrel caries an adjustable rear & front blade sight. The receiver & barrel each have two empty holes from previous scope mount. The stock carries a period ventilated recoil pad. Nickeled bolt, bolt handle & trigger. FFL or C&R - Value: 150 to 300
