ROF Fazackerley, Model: No.4 Mk.1/2, Cal: .303 British, MFG: Jan 1944, S/N: EC20189, Bolt action rifle, 25'' barrel. The two piece, semi-pistol grip walnut stock is very good as being sanded & refinished. Arsenal repaired heel & toe with nail reinforcement. No visible markings other than the faded S/N marking at the bottom end of the forend, only 189 is legible. The metal has an arsenal re-finish, done when it went through refurbishment at Fazackerley in 1950. The metal & metal parts have roughness/cleaned pitting under the finish. Ther finish rates 90% overall with spots of thinning. The left side of the receiver is marked with import stamps, two worn electro pencil markings that read NO4MK1/2(F)FTR50 the S/N, NO4MK1ROF(F) 1/44. These markings were added when it was refurbished since the original wrist band marking were buffed away, & to show when & where it was refurbished. The left side of the wrist band is marked with the S/N. The right side of the band has one faint proof stamp. More misc. proofs on other metal parts. S/N has been mostly scrubbed from the magazine but is still partial visible, does not match the rifle. S/N matching bolt, appears to have been forced matched with a A3 postfix & partially visible markings under the S/N marking. The bore is excellent. Bright & shiny with strong rifling but one spot of minor roughness. The barrel holds a square post front sight with protective ears. Rear of the receiver holds a Flip up ladder aperture rear sight marked 2 to 13. The stock carries an aluminum trapdoor buttplate that has dings & wear. Nothing inside trapdoor. The rifle both bottom sling loops, rear loop has rust & pitting. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 300 to 600
