Sestroretsk, Model: M1891 Mosin, Finnish army property marked, Cal: 7.62x53mmR (Finnish D166 cartridge), MFG: 1908, S/N: 2381, Bolt action rifle, 31 1/2'' barrel. The straight wrist walnut stock is very good near excellent, as being sanded & re-finished. Stock has a couple chips & dents under the new finish. Russian stock without the Finnish spliced joint upgrade. The metal is proud to the wood around the front of the magazine & at the upper tang. The right cheek of the stock has faint remains of a roundel cartouche, & a worn ''3'' stamp. The left cheek of the stock is stamped with ''31181'', & a ''O'' with two dots above it, markings are worn. The metal has a arsenal re-blue with roughness under the finish in spots. The metal finish rates 95% overall with a couple small scratches & spots of light thinning. The left side of the receiver is marked ''2'' & a lined out ''68''. The top of the receiver is marked with the Russian proof commission stamp of a Imperial eagle over Cyrillic ''PK''. The right side of the receiver has two punch marks. the rear of the barrel is marked with another imperial eagle over Cyrillic ''PK'', the Sestroretsk factory stamp in Cyrillic that reads ''SESTRORETSK ORDNANCE FACTORY'', ''1908r'', ''No.'' over the S/N, ''D'', two ''SA'' in box Finnish army property marks one by the arsenal mark, one on the left bottom side, & a few more proofs & inspectors stamps. Some markings are faded from the arsenal re-blue job. Import stamps on the bottom end of the barrel. Bolt is S/N forced matched to the rifle & is a mix of Izhevsk & Tula parts. The bore is very good. bright has strong rifling with light roughness throughout the bore. Has been counterbored. The barrel holds a barleycorn front sight with a Konovalov V-notch rear sight. The Russian arshin markings have been crossed out & marked in meters by the Finnish. The stock carries a blued steel buttplate with spots of wear. The rifle has updated Finnish sling swivels & comes with a ''SK.Y'' marked sling. ''SK.Y'' is the Finnish abbreviation for ''Suojeluskuntain Yleisesikunta'', which translates to General Staff of the Guards Corps, the Finnish civil guard. Rifle has cleaning rod & also comes with a M91/30 socket bayonet, post 1928 Izhevsk marked. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 500 to 1000
