F.E.G. (Warsaw Factory 02) (Hungarian), Model: 48.M Mosin Carbine, Cal: 7.62x54mmR, MFG: 1953, S/N: BK2288, Bolt action rifle, 20'' barrel. The straight wrist wood stock is very good with various nicks, dings, scuffs, chips, & scratches from use/age. The right cheek of the stock is marked with ''B'' in circle, ''02'', & a ''2'' in circle cartouches markings are slightly faded from wear. The blued metal finish on the barrel rates 45% with even thinning. The receiver finish rates 55% with more thinning. The left side of the receiver is stamped with import markings. The top rear of the barrel is marked ''02'', ''1953'', a small proof stamp, the S/N, & a couple small proofs. ''02'' marked on buttplate, rear barrel band, & the magazine housing. More small proofs on other metal parts. S/N mismatched bolt, magazine floorplate & buttplate S/N matching. The bore is excellent. Bright & mirrorlike with little to no visible wear. The barrel holds a post front sight with protective globe. The rear sight is a tangent U-notch marked 1 to 10. The stock carries a blued buttplate. Buttplate hast mostly worn gray with blue remining on the upper tang, & has light scattered patina. the stock has both sling wells for use with leather ''dog collars''. Affixed folding cruciform bayonet. The rife is missing the cleaning rod. F.E.G. in Budapest made 160,000 of these rifles from 1952-53 & are exact copies of the Russian M44 Mosin, just with different markings. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 350 to 700
