Deutsche Waffen-Und Munitionsfabriken (DWM), Model 1891 Argentino Mauser, Cal: 7.65x53mm Mauser, MFG: 1899, S/N: S 5581, Bolt action rifle, 26'' barrel. The aftermarket, pistol-grip, cheeked Montecarlo stock is very good with small nicks, dings & scratches from use. The blued metal finish rates 85% on the barrel with spots of thinning & light speckled patina. The blued metal finish on the receiver rates 75% with gun metal gray & brown patina at the top of the receiver ring where the crest was buffed off. S/N matching bolt, barrel, & magazine. There is a bulge in the barrel just after the chamber. Without the bulge the bore rates very good near excellent. Its bright & mirrorlike with light roughness near the muzzle. The barrel holds a barleycorn front sight with a receiver mounted Williams peep sight. The stock has a matching forend tip & butt end with no buttplate. Rifle has no sling mounts.
