UNIQUE SET, Colt, Frontier Six Shooter, CAL: 44, MFG: 1890, SN: 130001, Single Action Revolver, 4 3/4'' barrel. The top of the barrel is faintly marked in two lines ''COLT'S PT F.A MFG CO HARTFORD CT. U.S.A.''. The left side of the barrel is faintly marked ''COLT FRONTIER SIX SHOOTER''. The left side of the frame is faintly marked with the three line patent dates & the circled Rampant Colt logo is not present. All matching SN on the frame, trigger guard & butt. The authentic Stag grips are excellent. The original finishes have fully worn to gun metal gray, with intermittent pitting & toned to a thin brown patina throughout. Bore is fair, with thinned rifling & consistent roughness & pitting. Integral v-notch rear sight & blade front sight. This revolver is accompanied by a 1880's ammo belt, marked ''G.S. GAROUTTE GREEN RIVER WYO. TER. 45''. The belt carries a 1890's-1900's single loop holster marked ''LOHLEIN & SIGWART CHEYENNE WYO.'', a ''U.S MARSHALL'' badge & an unmarked leather knife sheath that holds an unmarked blade with bone handle. According to the consignor: The only record found on C.S. Garoutte was in Sweetwater, CO in 1888 & he was listed as a saloon keeper. A classic set for a gentleman in the Old West.
