Colt, U.S Army Model 1917, CAL 45, MFG: 1919, SN: 190941, Double Action Revolver, 5 1/2'' barrel. This revolver has been professionally restored. The top of the barrel is stamped in two lines ''COLTS PT.F.A MFG. CO HARTFORD, CT. U.S.A/ PAT'D AUG.5.1884 JUNE 5 1900 JULY 4 1905''. The left side of the barrel is marked ''COLT D.A. 45''. The bottom of the barrel is marked ''UNITED STATES PROPERTY''. The left side of the frame displays the Rampant Colt logo. There is ''JMG'' above the cylinder release & a half buffed ''3'' just above the trigger guard. The butt is marked ''U.S. ARMY MODEL 1917 NO 41/181''. The replaced grips are excellent, near mint. The fit is a little small for the frame. The restored metal blue finish rates 85% on the barrel, 90% on the frame & 80% on the trigger guard, with concentrated wear to the backstrap & butt. Bore is good, with consistent light pitting & roughness throughout. Bore appears dull or hazy, most likely from the re-blue process. U-notch rear sight & large dorsal fin blade front sight. Comes with a reproduction US leather holster. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 500 to 900
