Marlin, XXX Standard 1872 - 2nd Varation, CAL: 32 SHORT, MFG: 1872-73, SN: 2483, Single Action Revolver, 3'' barrel. The left side of the barrel is marked ''+ J.M MARLIN NEW-HAVEN CT PAT JULY 1 1873'' & the top of the barrel is marked ''XXX STANDARD 1872''. The original birdshead wood grips are excellent. There are contusions & dings, with remnants of original finish. The original metal blue finish on the barrel has mostly worn to metal gray & toned to a brown patina, with remants of blue remaining in protected areas. The silver/nickel finish on the frame rates 40%, with areas worn brass. The exposed brass frame has an attractive aged patina. Bore is fair, dark & rough. Integral notch rear sight & small blade front sight. Manufactured only 1872-1873 in three different variations. Antique, No FFL Req. - Value: 600 to 900
