FANTASTIC Winchester Model 1873 Deluxe, 38 WCF CAL., MFG: 1895, SN: 496970, Lever Action Rifle, 24 1/4'' Octagon barrel, Full Mag. The factory deluxe, checkered, flat pistol grip wood stocks are excellent. Having been cleaned, lightly sanded & reoiled. The stocks have a few light scratches & contusions remaining & there is a 1'' grain stress crack in the middle of the right side of the forend. There is some missing edge chipping at the toe. The stocks have fantastic feathered & rippled contrasting grain. The pistol grip displays an ebony insert. The metal blue finish on the barrel & mag have toned mostly to a brown patina, with remnants of original blue in protected areas between barrel & mag. The case-hammered receiver, lever & hammer have some smokey outlines of faded case-colors, but have mostly faded or worn gun metal gray, with a thin brown patina. Bore is good, but with cleaned roughness amongst solid rifling. The barrel holds an adjustable rear & silver pinched blade front sights. Buttstock carries a sliding trapdoor crescent metal buttplate. Plain trigger. A beautiful, deluxe 1873 rifle which presents well. Antique, NO FFL Req. - Value: 5000 to 6500
