BOXED Winchester, Model John Wayne 100th Anniversary Custom Grade 1892 SRC, marked Cal. 44-40 WIN, MFG. 2007, SN: JW100H3460, Lever Action Rifle, 18 1/2'' Round barrel, Pre-64, The High Grade is a limited edition of only 4,000 rifles, each highly embellished with delicate scroll engraving & fond reminders of Duke. It celebrates the 100 year anniversary of his birth. The right side of the scroll engraved silver nickel nitride receiver features John Waynes portrait, his initials & a flowing banner with the words ''Courage, Strength, Grit.'' Left side of the scroll engraved silver nickel nitride receiver displays two portraits of John Wayne, along with a banner that reads ''John Wayne American, 1907-2007'', all richly accented by a deeply blued saddle ring, trigger & hammer. John Wayne's silvered signature graces the short 18 1/2'' barrel. The ladder style carbine rear sight is fully adjustable. Two silver nickel nitride barrel bands match the receiver. The deeply blued loading gate & action screws lend an extra touch of elegance. The straight black walnut stocks are original & excellent. The right side of stock carries a silver medallion with Duke images. The original metal finishes rate 100% overall. Bore is excellent. The barrel carries a rear carbine ladder sight & brass front blade. The large loop lever is designed for fast action. The stock carries the original carbine style buttplate. Original saddle ring & staple. Comes in the original factory box, with outer sleave, lock, hang tag & paperwork. An excellent, original condition special commemorative rifle.
