Winchester, Model 1885 Low Wall Rifle, .22 SHORT. Cal., MFG: 1917, SN: 120198, Lever Single Shot Rifle, 24 3/4'' Octagon #1 stamped barrel. The original straight grip wood stocks are excellent & solid. There is an ebony tip to the schnabel forend. There are several minor handling marks, scratches & contusions to original finish. There is a small edge chip on the right side of the stock where the wrist meets the receiver. There is also a 1'' crack at the left side of the forend tip. The original metal blue finish on the barrel rates 50%, toning to a brown patina as it thins. The receiver, lever, block & hammer are all toning to a brown patina. Bore is excellent. The receiver is mounted with a Marbles flip-up tang sight, while the barrel carries an adjustable rear sight & a blade front sight. The stock carries the original crescent metal buttplate. The barrel is stamped with a ''1'' forward of the forearm. Under the forearm on the barrel is stamped with the caliber ''22 RF'', with ''22 SHORT'' stamped on the left flat of the barrel. A very nice original condition low wall rimfire rifle. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 1000 to 1750
