Winchester, Model 1885 Low Wall Rifle, .22 L.R.. Cal., MFG: 1917, SN: 11725, Lever Single Shot Rifle, 26'' Octagon #2 stamped barrel. This rifle was fully & professionally restored. The upgraded straight grip wood stocks are excellent. They display fantastic rippled & contrasting grain. There is an ebony tip to the schnabel forend. There are virtually no handling marks to the excellent satin finish. The restored metal blue finish on the barrel rates 99%, with some cleaned rust pitting under the blue, but only under the forearm where not visible. The case-hardened receiver, lever, hammer & buttplate all display vivid & strong case-colors. The bore has been relined & is excellent. The barrel carries open dovetails & no current iron sights. The stock carries the original crescent metal buttplate. The barrel is stamped with a ''2'' forward of the forearm. Under the forearm on the barrel is stamped ''WCF'', as caliber was converted to L.R. when it was relined. Top of the barrel is stamped ''22 LR'' on the top of the barrel. A very sharp presenting .22 rifle that just needs some period sights added. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 800 to 1500
