J. Stevens A. & T. Co., Model No. 44, Cal: 25 RF, MFG: 1894 - 1933, SN: 71007, Single Shot Rolling Block, 24'' Octagon to round barrel. The original straight grip wood stocks are very good, as lightly sanded & refinished. There are very few light scratches or handling marks to the current finish. There is a fill repair at the forward right side of the wrist & a few glue repaired hairline cracks to the forend. The right side of barrel is stamped ''J. STEVENS ARMS. & TOOL. CO. CHICOPEE FALLS.MASS. USA.'', while the left side is stamped ''25-RF''. The SN is stamped on both the lower tang & the barrel. The original metal blue finish to the barrel rates 60%, with most of the loss found on the muzzle half, with some brush lines & chatter marks. The case-colored receiver displays muted case-colors. The barrel carries an adjustable rear & Rocky Mountain front sights. Bore is very good, with roughness amongst strong rifling. Stock carries a crescent metal buttplate. A nice looking Stevens 44 rifle. FFL or C&R Req - Value: 400 to 800
