RARE C.B. Holden, Model Type 6th Two Trigger Rifle, Cal: 32 RF, MFG: 1876-80's, SN: None, Single Tip-up Action, 23 3/4'' Octagon to round barrel. These rifle were produced in Worchester Massachusetts starting in 1876, with an estimated few hundred of the small frame spur trigger type being produced & assembled over the years of assembly, possibly as late as 1890. The majority were produced in .22 caliber rimfire, with very limited production of larger calibers, thus making this .32 rimfire example even rarer version of the rifle. The original checkered & metal capped pistol grip walnut stock is good, having been previously cracked or broken at the wrist & fairly well & solidly repaired. There are minor scratches, scrapes & contusions to the wood & finish. The portion of the stock behind the wrist appears to carry the original finish. The original metal blue finish on the barrel has toned a plum blue, with areas of thinning toning to a brown patina. Nickeled brass receiver & foregrip have some accent & border hand engraving, with some rub thinning to the original nickel. The top of barrel is stamped '' C.B. HOLDEN MAKER, WORCESTER MASS''. The upper tang has an open dovetail tang sight provision, while the barrel has a fixed rear & small blade front sights. Bore is fair, with roughness amongst thinning rifling. Lever by the hammer releases the action. Stock carries the original nickeled & checkered metal buttplate. A very nice presenting example of a very scare antique tip-up rifle. Antique, No FFL Req. - Value: 1000 to 2000
