Winchester, Model 70, CAL: marked 300 MAGNUM IMP, MFG. 1942, SN: 446495, 26'' Round barrel. The barrel has the factory ''300 Magnum'' stamped on the left side, with the letter ''IMP'' stamped below it, indicating it has been rechambered to 300 MAGNUM IMP. The wood appears to have been professionally refinished, likely at the time of the caliber upgrade. The factory checkered & flat pistol grip wood stock is excellent, as lightly sanded & very nicely refinished. There appears to be a small inlay repair below the factory receiver sight provisions screws in the stock that is very well blended. The checkering appears to have been freshened as points are fairly sharp. There are very few minor rubs, light scratches or contusions remaining. Overall appearance of the stock & finish is excellent. The original metal blue finish rates 80% on barrel & receiver, while the trigger guard & floorplate shows additional wear. Bore is excellent. The receiver carries 4 scope mounting screw filled holes, two in the front of the receiver & two in the rear. The barrel has an adjustable rear sight & ramp & hooded front sight. The stock carries a Winchester solid recoil pad. Sling loops. Matching SN found on bolt. A sharp looking early WWII era vintage hunting rifle. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 800 to 1500
