FANTASTIC ENGRAVED Winchester, Model 70, CAL: marked 220 SWIFT, MFG. 1936 (Pre-64), SN: 2988, 26'' Round barrel. The fantastic checkered, cheeked & capped pistol grip walnut stock is excellent, displaying wonderful contrasting grain. There are very few tiny handling mark to the excellent finish. Ebony forend tip. Crisp checkering. There is a small edge chip to the wood at the widow's peak of the buttplate. The barrel, receiver, trigger guard, & floorplate display extensive hand engraving. The barrel is engraved from the receiver down a full 12'', which reaches 2'' beyond the from the forend tip. Its also engraved from the muzzle end a full 5''. The floorplate is engraved with a couple of prairie dogs. The metal blue finish rates 99% overall. Bore is excellent. The barrel has a dovetail mounted adjustable rear sight & a hooded ramp front sight. Stock carries a checkered metal widow's peak buttplate. Sling studs. An overall excellent & wonderfully engraved model 70. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 2500 to 5000
